Two Degrees°Creative


In May of 2019 I was invited by Two Degrees founder Ryan McGill to participate in an open brief to redesign the iconic recycling symbol in an effort to build global awareness of climate change.


Creative Direction

The mark is simple and flexible. The highlighted upward arrow offers an aspiration contrast to the dire content.


Color

This palette capitalizes on the visual language inherent to environmentally focused design. 


Typography

The use of a modernized Caslon is an unexpected contrast to the bold, international-inspired mark, while the secondary sans-serif face offers a contemporary balance.
